Prayer Newsletter 2020
Dear Lightwave prayer supporters,
I am writing to you to tell you about some forthcoming news and events that I think will be of interest to you and to ask for your prayers for all that will be happening in the life of the Lightwave Community!
Firstly the top 5 things to give thanks for are;
-
A really encouraging day on the 1st of February @ The Spiritual Practices and Discernment event held at the Rural Enterprise Centre, Otley College. Excellent teaching from Bishop Mike, one to one interviews for those discerning about becoming a Licensed Lay Evangelist and further workshops on spiritual disciplines led by Bishop Mike and Archdeacon Sally Gaze during the afternoon. Also creative prayer stations and a superb lunch!
-
A green rating for the Growing in God in the Countryside project by the Strategic Development Unit, following the recent meeting on the 4th February 2020.
-
A good launch of the Love Rural strand of the Growing in God in the Countryside project, where Archdeacon Sally shared the vision about Love Rural, as part of the Churches Together Suffolk Annual Council meeting, held on the 6th of February @ Rural Enterprise East, Otley College.
-
Two Rural Chaplains have been appointed to link into the Chaplaincy service @ Otley College and form part of the Growing in God in the Countryside project team. We welcome Graham Miles, Licensed Lay Evangelist and part of the South West Ipswich Ministry team and Captain Andrew Jarrold, who is serving with the Salvation Army.
The top 5 things to pray for are:
-
For the Lightwave Small group leader training, which starts on 25th of February and runs weekly for 6 weeks.
-
Planning for Thy Kingdom Come events, Suffolk Show having a 24/7 praying presence and the Pentecost Celebration Service on the 31st of May in Bury St Edmunds Cathedral.
-
For the launch of the Lightwave Youth Cafe @ Red Lodge Sports Pavillion which took place on 1st of February and will meet weekly on Saturdays between 6pm and 8pm.
-
For the launch of The Red Lodge Toddler Cafe, which opens its doors on Monday 10th February @ 10am - 12 noon, also in the Sports Pavillion.
-
For the Growing in God in the Countyside staff project team, as the project gains momentum.
Thanks for your prayer support!
Every blessing
