40 days of hope
40 days throughout January and February to share positivity and hope

At the start of 2021 we were told we would be facing another lockdown. As the country faced another season of isolation we thought we would share posts of joy on social media to encourage and inspire all those who saw. Below you will find our social media posts including quotes, worship music and activity ideas.
Since 40 days of Hope, we've had 40 days of kindness throughout Lent and then 40 days of Faith
#40daysofhope daily social media posts

Day 1
With the news of another lockdown this week, you may be feeling anxious, frustrated and sad. We will all be facing inevitable challenges, but it is important to reflect on the hope and good that God has been doing during this tough period. There is hope in our waiting. Let's look forward to where God is calling us and think of how we can support those around us.
For the next forty days we will be sharing reminders of hope through activities and worship. We'd love you to share what's bringing you hope at the moment...
If you would like to talk, any one of our team are here to listen, please get in touch.

Day 2
"I will praise on the mountain
I will praise you when the mountain is in my way
You're the summit where my feet are
So I will praise You in the valleys all the same"

Day 3
A little reminder...

Day 4
Take a walk in the fresh air and look around for signs of new life, flowers beginning to bloom or new green leaves...

Day 5
Rest is so important. How do we rest well in this season?

Day 6
Each week at 4pm, join Ben and Leanne (the leaders of the Lightwave Rural Hub in East Suffolk) on youtube for Midweek Munchies. There will be a game or quiz, a story, prayer and a Bible journaling technique demo to help families connect with God and each other during this time.

Day 7
something a little different today, a recipe for chocolate orange hot chocolate (courtesy of delish.com). We hope you'll find joy making this and snuggling up in a cosy corner to relax and read a book or have some quiet time... just click the link!

Day 8
Thank you so much to Reverend Lauren Moore over in South Hartismere for sending in today's beautiful message of hope...

Day 9
This song brought a smile to our faces today and we hope it will bring you and your children some joy too! Thank you to Ben and Leanne Wale from our Rural Hub in East Suffolk for sharing this with us...

Day 10
It’s so easy to feel down at the moment, unproductive, frustrated and anxious.
It’s so easy to compare your situation with others around you.
It’s so easy to think that everyone else is finding lockdown a lot easier than you.
It’s so easy to feel like you’re failing.
But the truth is you’re not. You’re here, you’re doing the best you can. So go easy on yourself. This experience is something nobody has been through before so allow yourself to feel those emotions but remember how far you’ve come.
If you’d like to talk to anyone, you can contact any member of the lightwave team and we’d be so happy to chat with you or pray with you.

Day 11
Today we’d love you to find an old, clean jar which you can decorate however you like.
This is going to be your thankful jar. Although it’s certainly been a hard year, it’s important to look for the good however big or small. Try to remember some things from the last year that you are thankful for. Maybe it was a walk in the sunshine back in July, a particularly funny, family zoom call or a catch up on the phone with a friend. It could be a really good banana bread you baked or a song that has brought you joy. Whatever it is write it down and pop it in the jar. When you’re having a hard day, you can open the jar and look at some of the happier memories to remind yourself that good times are coming again- and they are.

Day 12
Today's post actually follows on from yesterday's 'thankful jars', so go and check that out if you missed it.
This morning we want to look ahead to life after this pandemic. It may feel a long way off, and truly we don't know how long it will be, but it will happen! So start thinking today about the things that you would love to do when you can.
You will need another clean jar, which again you can decorate. Start writing down on small pieces of paper things that you are looking forward to, for example it might be hugging a friend, having someone over for dinner, going swimming or to the cinema! It might be a holiday or trip that you had to postpone. Whatever it is, write it down and pop it in the jar. As we edge towards normality it will be exciting to think of the things that will become possible again...

Day 14
Happy mail! Today why not write a letter or a card to a friend or loved one who you haven’t seen for a while?

Day 15
Here's a familiar song that you can get involved with at home...

Day 16
Who remembers the start of lockdown when everyone seemed to be making banana loaf? Well, today we are reminiscing and making banana loaf again, but this time a bit simpler! This is a banana mug cake which you can make in just a couple of minutes...

Day 17
Today we thought it would be fun to think about making a scrapbook!
Scrapbooks are such a great way to be creative, but are often time consuming, so why not use some time during lockdown to have a go?
It could be a scrapbook from a holiday you’ve been on, a pretty walk where you took lots of photos or even a lockdown scrapbook featuring all the activities you’ve done, recipes you’ve tried and walks you’ve been on.
Scrapbooking your experiences of the pandemic might sound a bit gloomy, but it will certainly be interesting to look back at such a significant part of history in years to come. It could be a helpful place to document your feelings and thoughts and to process each day.

Day 18
"Truth is, You know what tomorrow brings
There's not a day ahead You have not seen
So in all things be my life and breath
I want what You want, Lord, and nothing less"

Day 19
Cast your anxiety on Him...

Day 20

There will be a game or quiz, a story, prayer and a Bible journaling technique demo to help families connect with God and each other during this time. This week they looked at the story of the lost son. There was finger painting, and a party theme with a balloon game.

Day 21
Have a little dance to some Rend Co. Kids today!

Day 22
Although these photos were taken on a much warmer day, we thought it would still be fun to head outside and pick some flowers! See what beauty you can find in your garden or on a walk through the countryside. Bring the colours of the outside inside and pop your cuttings in a jar to display in your home.

Day 23
Today we thought it would be a fun activity to try lettering. Think of a quote or phrase or even a song lyric that brings you joy, and have a go at turning it into a piece of artwork, to keep or maybe send to a loved one.
You could do it with pens, paints, pencils or even digitally! Let your imagination run wild...

Day 24
Hebrews 6:19

Day 25
We can't quite believe it is February already, can you? Today why not write one thing you are thankful for from January and one thing you are looking forward to in February?
We are thankful for days of winter sunshine in January and are looking forward to Pancake day!
